Dirt Fishermen are based in Boise, Idaho They still have the 1988 original members Gina Gregerson, KT Shanafelt, Dan Krejci, and Glenn Newkirk. Album: "Glenn's car" at Dogfish Studios in Portland. In 1992 the band signed to C/Z records. "Vena Cava" was recorded in 1993 by Jack Endino. New music appeared in 2024, Everything On, recorded by Kyler Den in Boise. Album coming fall of 2024! ... more

On first listen I immediately felt a feverish familiarity, a spacey, frayed-wire connection to that dreamy echo of an angsty youth. I imagined Eno singing over Kilbey arrangements, and the dark embrace I always got from most anything on the 4AD label... from 80s Cocteau Twins and Bauhaus to Red House Painters and Lush in the 90s... really the entire cast of wonderfully introspective bands spawned during those decades. Wrenching, drifting... insistent, compelling. And deeply moving. Marvelous!
